Bobby McFerrin is a wizard

There is nothing quite as lovely, sacred, and sweet as people singing together in harmony. It is especially sacred and sweet when the people singing together are strangers in a concert hall, being conducted by the person they came to listen to. Bobby McFerrin, in this video clip, demonstrates why music, and harmony, are such amazing things.

Kurt Vonnegut said his own epitaph should be -- "The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music."

Amen brother, amen.

Amazing clip. I thought about these things today, driving home from vacation, listening to Pete Seeger, "Bring Me a Little Water, Silvy," his audience at Carnegie Hall and the four of us in the car all singing along.

Yes, singing together is quite an amazing activity, and - alas - all too rare. How many of us spend an evening singing with friends? I do it too rarely, and each time I have done it I wonder why we don't do it more often.

all best!
